The Senior Maths Curriculum Officer is responsible for the ongoing review, development, and implementation of the mathematics curriculum at YWIES/YCIS. This role involves creating engaging teaching and learning materials, providing professional development for teachers, and collaborating with subject leaders to ensure the effective delivery of the mathematics curriculum.
1. Curriculum Development and Revision
1.1. Review and update the mathematics curriculum for YWIES/YCIS as needed to ensure alignment with educational standards and best practices.
1.2. Develop comprehensive teaching and learning materials, including teacher's guides, worksheets, PowerPoint presentations, educational videos, and other resources to support the delivery of the mathematics curriculum.
1.3. Oversee the design and implementation of targeted intervention programs to support underperforming students in mathematics.
1.4. Oversee the development and delivery of enrichment programs that extend the learning of high-achieving mathematics students, fostering their advanced problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and deeper conceptual understanding of mathematical ideas.
2. Teacher Professional Development
2.1. Provide ongoing support and guidance to mathematics teachers within our organization to improve the quality of mathematics teaching and learning
2.2. Develop and deliver high-quality training and professional development workshops for teachers on effective mathematics pedagogies, curriculum planning, assessment strategies, and use of technology in the mathematics classroom.
2.3. Conduct regular classroom observations to provide timely feedback and support the proper implementation of the prescribed mathematics curriculum.
2.4. Participate in the mathematics teacher appraisal process as needed.
2.5. Research and disseminate information on best practices, innovative teaching methods, and curriculum resources to mathematics teachers.
2.6. Facilitate peer-to-peer learning and collaboration between mathematics teachers across the organization.
3. Curriculum Implementation and Evaluation
3.1. Work closely with subject leaders at YWIES/YCIS to ensure the smooth delivery of the curriculum materials and the effective implementation of the mathematics curriculum.
3.2. Work collaboratively with school leadership teams to analyze student mathematics performance data and identify areas for improvement
3.3. Contribute to the implementation and development of the school's learning community.
3.4. Stay up to date with the latest developments in mathematics education policy, curriculum, and pedagogy
4. Miscellaneous Duties
4.1. Engage with parents and the wider community to promote mathematics and numeracy skills.

E.g. Encourage students to take part in mathematics competitions. Develop activities for Mathematics Week or Pi-Day.
4.3. Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by the division head.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Master or PhD degree in mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field; a higher degree obtained from an overseas university is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in curriculum development, teacher training, and/or mathematics education with no less than 2 years overseas working experience is a must.
• Strong knowledge of mathematics content and pedagogical best practices.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, subject leaders, and administrators.
• Proficient in the use of educational technology and digital learning tools
